The Indo-American Charity Foundation (IACF) is a non-profit charitable organization that helps the underprivileged and needy with monetary contributions and volunteer work through established and emerging organizations in the Greater Houston Area. IACF was founded in 1988 by a group of Houstonians of Indian origin (Indo-American) compelled by an altruistic desire to give back to their local community. Their mission to help the underprivileged, and has now developed into a multi-faceted philanthropic endeavor to help those in need of Education, Family, General Welfare and Healthcare in the Greater Houston Area. Our motto is “We live here, We give here”, and our mission is to foster the local community “whose basic needs are met and where everyone can lead enriched lives”.

We have been providing scholarships to high potential college-bound students with financial needs, supporting local charities engaged in improving the STEM education for students in inner-city schools, assisting abused women and children, feeding the homeless and needy,  and providing free medical clinics and vaccinations. Our organization is run fully by dedicated and non-paid Board and volunteers.

As we are shifting from Pandemic to an Endemic, IACF has been organizing many events including one of its signature events, the Walk-a-Thon: “I Walk- I Care” benefiting the Indian Doctor’s Charity Clinic (IDCC). We've also raised and donated over $110,000.00 for Covid related activities.

We request your presence and support for our 2022 Annual Gala, at 6:30 PM, Friday, December 2, 2022. Mr. Atul Vir (President, Equator Advanced Appliances) will be the Keynote Speaker

IACF Donates 10 bed Intensive Care Units to two Hospitals in India as part of its Covid Relief Efforts

IACF has been supporting Houston area Covid relief efforts since April 2020. It has heightened its effort in May of 2021 to support the India COVID Relief needs as this Pandemic was impacting the South Asian community in the US with almost all families having a family member, friend or known persons being impacted in India. To that end, IACF partnered with NIRMAAN USA ( and Khosla Ventures, USA to support the “10bedICU” initiative in rural India and launched “IACF - COVID India Relief Fundraiser’.

Thanks to a generous contribution of $20,000 from our past IACF President Mr. Nanda Vura and an enormous effort by him and our current board member Mr. Pankaj Rana in promoting IACF fundraising efforts as part of the NRG Corporation matching program, and the generous contribution of many of our supporters, we were successful in raising over $115,000. IACF has sponsored 10 ICU Beds for the following two area hospitals in rural India
1. Area Hospital - Bhupalpally District, Telangana State ( Part Sponsor)
2. Area Hospital – Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram District, Andhra Pradesh (Full Sponsor)

We are also supporting 2 other Indian NGO's who also support the Covid relief efforts in India.
